Wildfire Preparation for Ventura County Residents

Our local community knows that when those Santa Ana Winds come over the hills, it can bring with it a lot more than just dust. Prepare yourself this Wildfire Season with the following checklist:
*Warnings and Alerts- Sign up for local alerts right to your phone. Be aware of your surroundings communities.
*Make an Emergency Plan-Have an evacuation plan but also know your local shelter information. Once you’ve made out of your home, what comes next?
*Prepare your Home- Use fire-resistant materials when building your home. Keep your lawn clear of debris and other hazards that can lead to potential issues.
*Important Documents-Have these in one spot so you can grab immediately without having to search during an emergency.
*Supplies-Have an emergency supply box ready to go. Include non-perishable food, medical supplies extra clothes.
*Listen to Authorities-If authorities are advising you to evacuate, don’t hesitate. Be ready to go.
